The gate will take you approx. 1.5 to prep, that will leave you you with .8 to apply sealer,2-3 coats of base & 2-3 coats of clear coat. In our opinion this labor allowance is not sufficient. In addition to the actual time we have involved in completing this repair we also able to confirm other data sources allow 3.4 for the same refinish operation.

We have reviewed our refinish labor when repairing the liftgate on the Chevy HHR and the standalone time is 3.6hrs before any overlap is applied ( 2.5 surface + 0.6 two-stage setup + 0.5 two-stage). Based on the estimate provided the 2.3hrs is after overlap.

No other changes are warranted at this time.
