Estimated Release Date: Closed
Proposed Resolution: MOTOR stated:
According to the Labor Premise in the MOTOR Guide To Estimating, “Reported times include normal align procedure to insure proper fit of the individual new part being replaced.” Time for test fit is factored into estimated work times for new, undamaged components. If this is related to an R&I operation, the same premise holds true. According to the definition of R&I, “Item is removed, set aside and later reinstalled and aligned for proper fit.”

MOTOR EWT does not include a 2nd fitment (or more) of a component to the vehicle, for any reason (including verification of dimensional accuracy or adjacent part alignment). If more than one component installation is required for a specific repair plan, an on-the-spot evaluation should be used for the number of fitments beyond the first one required to perform the repair.

Issue Summary Motor has updated to now include trial fit one time as included per the procedure p page. has there been time added to all bolt on parts to now include this operation or have all of the times stayed the same?
Suggested Action Trial fitting should not be included with the same time as replacing a part. Due to the complexity of one manufacture to the next this shouldn't be a blanket inclusion of an operation.
