Proposed Resolution: MOTOR stated:
After review of MOTOR Crash Estimating Data, according to the “Guide To Estimating we have determined the following:

The estimated work time for a “Body Panel” that is “welded, bonded and/or riveted” on includes the removal/application of OEM caulk/seam sealer (all types). MOTOR’s estimated work time development for a “Body Panel” that is “welded, bonded and/or riveted” on includes the procedural step of OEM caulk/seam sealer removal/application.

The estimated work time for a “Body Panel” that is “bolted-on” i.e. Hood, Door, Trunk Lid, Liftgate, Tail Gate etc. Does Not Include caulk/seam sealer. This is due to a variation in supplied Service Parts that require caulk/seam sealer. The OEM caulk/seam sealer may or may not be applied to the Service Part or the OEM caulk/seam sealer only partially applied. MOTOR suggests using an on-the-spot evaluation to determine if duplicating the OEM caulk/seam sealer is required. MOTOR recommends these factors be considered and mutually agreed upon before finalizing any repair cost estimate.

Spray caulk/seam sealer is listed as not included.

Per the Guide To Estimating, Estimated Work Time Premise: Testing/practice to duplicate OE caulking appearance is not included.

Undercoating, tar or grease removal is listed as not include.

Undercoating application is not included.

Please note:
According to the “Guide To Estimating: Labor Time Premise”, “Labor Time Does Not Include: Material costs.

Inquiry type Non-Welded Panel Operations
Area of Vehicle Rear Body And Floor
Issue Summary we are replacing rear floor tub and rear body panel - TOYOTA uses heavy sprayable seam sealer at underside of bot (heavier on floor than rear body) - we need to know if C1 has documentation stating that R&R times do or don't include the additional labor time of removing the undercoating/sprayable seam sealer to have weld access AS WELL AS to re-apply and replicate sprayable seam sealer spray pattern and sound deadening at underside and inside of floor tub
Technician Skill Level Advanced
Suggested Action need clarification if labor times include replicating sprayable seam sealer appearance as well as time to actually apply at inside and underside of rear floor and rear body - images attached of damaged floor and replacement floor for visual aid, thank you
