Proposed Resolution: MOTOR stated:
After review of MOTOR Crash Estimating Data, according to the “Guide To Estimating we have determined the following: The estimated work time for a “Body Panel” that is “welded, bonded and/or riveted” on includes the removal/application of OEM caulk/seam sealer (all types). MOTOR’s estimated work time development for a “Body Panel” that is “welded, bonded and/or riveted” on includes the procedural step of OEM caulk/seam sealer removal/application. The estimated work time for a “Body Panel” that is “bolted-on” i.e. Hood, Door, Trunk Lid, Liftgate, Tail Gate etc. Does Not Include caulk/seam sealer. This is due to a variation in supplied Service Parts that require caulk/seam sealer. The OEM caulk/seam sealer may or may not be applied to the Service Part or the OEM caulk/seam sealer only partially applied. MOTOR suggests using an on-the-spot evaluation to determine if duplicating the OEM caulk/seam sealer is required. MOTOR recommends these factors be considered and mutually agreed upon before finalizing any repair cost estimate. Spray caulk/seam sealer is listed as not included. Per the Guide To Estimating, Estimated Work Time Premise: Testing/practice to duplicate OE caulking appearance is not included. Undercoating, tar or grease removal is listed as not include. Undercoating application is not included. Please note:
According to the “Guide To Estimating: Labor Time Premise”, “Labor Time Does Not Include: Material costs. |
