After review, in the Restraint Systems group, Modules & Sensors subgroup, the following updates have been made:

Side Impact Sensor, Front Door, Screw (W718492S439) and Nut (W715150S900) have been added.

A footnote has been applied to the Screw and Nut that states, “PARTS: Part cannot be reused/reinstalled.”

The footnote applied to the Side Impact Sensor, Front Door has been updated to state, “Part has related components that cannot be reused/reinstalled; screw and nut. LABOR: Time is after front door trim panel is removed.”

After review, in the Front Door group, Headnote operations, the following updates have been made:

An Add If Required, drill for impact sensor, operation has been added with an estimated work time of 0.5 hours and a footnote that states, “LABOR: Time is for drilling holes for side impact sensor if necessary.

Issue Summary Ford did not change the part number for the doors, however they DID change the mounting methods for the airbag impact sensor (ML3Z*14B345*A) to where on the old door there was a rectangle cutout with two screws that held it in place. Ford now includes (our box did not include this information) instructions on how to mount the sensor in the correct spot, but it requires modification. The new door appears to have a 1/4 turn and lock look for the sensor with no holes. Ford's documentation states you must tape around this new hole with 3M Venture Tape 1581A (typically used for HVAC,) and tape around the hole, then drill new holes for the impact sensor into the new door ski, through the venture tape. Ford then states the hardware must be replaced.
Suggested Action Have CCC have an option that has additional time to drill and mount sensor in new location. Technical data of the change would also be appreciated in the part notes, as well as noting that the sensor hardware (screws (x2, part number W718492S439) and the nuts (x2, part number W715150S900) need to be replaced and that the 3M Venture Tape is required.
